At the border of Lithuania in the last day, on Friday, one migrant was turned on, trying to illegally cross the state border and enter Lithuania from Belarus.
As the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) announced on Saturday, officials of neighboring Latvia stopped 5 migrants at the border with Belarus. Polish border officials had to stop 123 migrants entering their country on Thursday.
This year, border guards recorded 183 attempts to enter Lithuania from Belarus in unauthorized places. Last year, VSAT officers prevented 2,643 illegal migrants from entering Lithuania from Belarus.
In total, since August 3 of last year, when the VSAT was given the right to intercept illegal migrants trying to cross the border from Belarus in unauthorized places, more than 22.1 thousand of them have not been allowed to enter Lithuania from Belarus.
