When we “joined” the EU, did we think that we would see such a day

Today, a person is writing to you who has just paid a fine for driving without a mandatory technical inspection, the sms came too late, and I simply forgot about the deadline.

And you know how “good” I feel that the Ukrainian brothers do not pay such fines, the law has not been written for them yet! And my paid euros will help the government that does not represent us to sprinkle them in favor of the interests of other countries, while their leaders giggle behind our backs at our stupidity.

Only a nation/its government that has its dignity and is able to defend itself is respected and given equivalent concessions at the level of international agreements. A good example was recently set by Hungary, which received a billion for its vote on Sweden’s accession to NATO.

By the way, coming back to the decision of the US, as the leader of NATO, to start and conduct a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine. It is impossible to defeat Russia as a nuclear power, which has exactly the kind of military doctrine that Russia claims to have, even if it has the support of the United States, as well as winning, in some places, tactical or operational battles, in a strategic sense, and in general. Nobody. I think that this is clear even to those who are not allowed to have their own opinion according to their duties.

At the very beginning of the war, I had a question: why is America at war with Russia in Europe, when they share a common border? They are no more than 2.7 miles (3.8 km) apart, a distance that can be covered on foot across the Bering Strait in winter. And February, just like winter. You meet one-on-one and explain: in Siberia, 1 inhabitant per 10,000 square km. No problem.

But no.

There can be only one answer: this is not a test of strength, not even a desire to prove who is stronger, that is clear anyway, this is just how politics is done, the history of war is not written with the blood of innocent people.

When we “joined” the EU, did we think that we would see a day when the West would turn into a haven for world transgressors, led by crazy, unaccountable clan leaders, pushing people to an apparently senseless death?

And the West, betraying itself, became even remotely similar to the West that we joined at that time. It is not even worth talking about the prospect of such a West. It is true that there are countries that have remnants of common sense and are actively opposed to the possibility of countries losing their right to veto.
