This opinion was expressed by Jarosław Stróżyk, head of the Polish military counterintelligence service (SKW), in an interview with the Polish daily “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, Ukrinform reports.
According to the head of SKW, no one can indicate when Russia may start aggression against Poland, and all forecasts of expert groups without detailed information are based on assumptions.
“It goes without saying that V. Putin is already ready for some small operation against one of the Baltic states, for example, the famous Narva or one of the Swedish islands,” said Mr. Stróżykas.
According to the head of Polish military counter-intelligence, “it is a question of Mr. Putin’s intentions, but what all the West is doing together to help Ukraine shows him that if NATO were to be attacked, the Western reaction would be even more powerful.”
Mr. Stróżykas responded positively to the actions of the former Polish government in purchasing armaments. He pointed out that, although doing so is not without loss, Poland’s ability to defend itself against an aggressor is growing.
European intelligence services have reportedly warned their governments that Russia is actively planning acts of sabotage across the continent, such as bombings, arson and damaging infrastructure, either directly or through proxies, with little concern for civilian casualties.
