Rajon Rondo announced a 16-season NBA career at the age of 38.

Rajon Rondo, who last appeared on the floor of the National Basketball Association (NBA) almost two years ago (April 16, 2022), has officially announced the end of his career.

The American said about it on the “All the smoke” podcast.

“Now I want to spend time with my children. I’ve earned enough, it’s time to take care of them,” said the 38-year-old former player.

Rondo played 16 seasons in the NBA, won the championship twice (2008 with the Boston Celtics and 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers), played in the All-Star game four times (2010-2013).

During his career, the basketball player represented Celtics (2006-2015), Dallas Mavericks (2014-2015), Sacramento Kings (2015-2016), Chicago Bulls (2016-2017) , New Orleans Pelicans (2017-2018), Lakers (2018-2020), Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers (both 2020-2021) and Cleveland Cavaliers (2021 -2022).

Statistically, the American played his best season in 2011-2012. in a season in which he averaged 13.3 points and 11.8 assists for the Celtics.
