It is unlikely that Russian forces can significantly penetrate the points west of Avdiyivka, although Ukrainian troops have had to retreat from the surrounding villages, according to the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The latest analysis of the situation highlights that the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has publicly announced that the Ukrainians have withdrawn from three villages west of Avdiyivka. He emphasized that the Ukrainian forces will rotate units in this zone in order to restore military capability.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have the right to strike the enemy’s military logistics facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea, especially the Crimean bridge. This was announced by the head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Captain 3rd Rank Dmitriy Pletenchuk.

If Ukrainian forces are well equipped with Western weaponry, they will be able to prevent a major Russian operational march during their planned summer offensive. However, an aggressor’s military can pose a significant threat by exploiting individual advantages and adaptations.

As ISW points out, during the previous large-scale offensive operations, the Ukrainian armed forces did not allow the occupiers to achieve even tactical gains. According to analysts, it is unlikely that Russia will organize an offensive operation this summer, which would be much larger and more intense than the previous ones.

On the night of Saturday in Russia, strike drones attacked the Krasnodar region. Hits and a fire were recorded at the Slaviansk EKO oil refinery near Kuban Slaviansk.
