Sholz’s repeated position on Wednesday not to supply Ukraine with “Taurus” cruise missiles, but he emphasized that the contribution of each country is different. The guest especially praised Germany’s decision to transfer another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. O. Scholz deserves only praise for this.
The German chancellor also emphasized that Berlin and London are the biggest supporters of Ukraine in Europe. At the same time, he called the decision of the US Congress to provide billions in aid to the country attacked by Russia an encouraging and necessary signal. “This decision shows that Putin is wrong to think that the countries in Europe and the USA and all other supporters will ever leave Ukraine to its fate. This is the first since 2022. the visit of the acting British Prime Minister to Germany in October. At the meeting, R. Sunakas and O. Scholz discussed stronger cooperation in defense matters, as well as cooperation in the fields of energy and the fight against organized crime.
Britain has been outside the EU for more than four years, but is still one of Germany’s most important allies in NATO, the G7 and the G20.
