At the beginning of the summer, during joint exercises of the military units of Lithuania, NATO and European Union (EU) member states, it is planned that naval aircraft, their crews, personnel and naval staffs from the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, France, will arrive in the country. Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.

The Naval Forces of the Lithuanian Armed Forces are responsible for organizing the part of the “Baltic Operation 2024” exercise – the pre-departure conference – in Klaipėda. During this part of the exercise, 2024 June 4-7 all soldiers will arrive at the port of Klaipėda. After that, it is expected that the soldiers will carry out the assigned tasks in the Baltic Sea region until 2024. June 21

ELTA reminds that the annual largest international exercise in the Baltic Sea region “Baltic Operation 2024” is organized by the US Naval Forces in Europe. The implementation of these exercises is ensured by NATO.

The purpose of the exercises is to provide an opportunity for military forces of different countries to train, to strengthen the military response capacity, which ensures freedom of navigation and safety in the Baltic Sea.
