After reviewing the reports of Klaipėda district council members, it became clear that conservative Alfredas Šiaulys submitted checks containing 297 different discount cards. The politician paid for fuel several times a day – for example, in 2021. in June, the politician paid 13 times in three days at the gas station.
Other conservatives – Rasa Linklienė – paid with different bank and discount cards, although she mostly paid in cash, but the report also indicates the data of 4 payment and 69 discount cards. Her colleague Vida Ronkaitytė also has 4 bank and 107 discount cards, 2 payment and 64 discount cards in the accounts of Virgilijus Skuodas, 11 bank and 34 discount cards in the checks of Česlovas Banevičiaus.
At that time, the representative of the People and Justice Union, Viktoras Kura, allegedly poured fuel several times a day, at intervals of several hours, according to reports. All of the politician’s payments are in cash, but the submitted checks contain 112 different discount card numbers.
Social Democrat Ligita Liutkienė presented checks in which fuel was paid for at different gas stations in just a few minutes. It is noticeable that the presented policy checks are nominal. The council member also paid for fuel several times a day – for example, in 2020. March 24 visited the gas station 6 times. In total, the social democrat paid for fuel with 17 different payment and 125 different discount cards.
Liberal Aušra Gudauskienė also poured fuel several times a day – according to the checks presented in the report, it can be seen that she did this even in a time interval of a dozen seconds. The politician paid for both gasoline and diesel with the funds allocated for the activities of the council member. All payments are in cash, but “Skaidrinam” has calculated that the checks contain details of a total of 35 different discount cards.
Another representative of the Liberal movement, Audronė Balnionienė, presented checks for fuel from only two gas stations – Kalotė EMSI and Trevena. Most of the payments are in cash, but the report also shows payments with 9 different bank and 263 different discount cards.
Former council member, 2023 after trying to run for office with “Vardan Lietuvos”, Jonas Dumašius also paid for various fuel with 10 different bank cards and 65 discount cards. However, the politician two days in a row – in 2021. March 31 and April 1 – bought and changed car tires.
The representative of the Lithuanian Peasants and Greens Union (LVŽS) Violeta Riaukienė probably paid for fuel every day – according to “Skaidrinam” calculations, the politician submitted checks with 6 different payment cards and as many as 164 discount cards.
Another “peasant” Rima Leonauskienė paid in cash, but the checks contained the numbers of 22 different discount cards. In the reports of her colleague Raimundos Daubaris, there are a total of 96 different discount cards, while “peasant” Vytautas Butkaus has 14 bank and 21 discount cards.
In the reports of Rūta Cirtautaitė, a member of the public committee “Klaipeda District Citizens”, there are payments for gasoline, diesel and gas. During the term, a total of 33 different bank and 46 discount cards were paid. Vaclovas Macijauskas, a member of the other “Together better” committee, has 7 different bank cards and 9 discount cards in his reports. It can be seen that the politician also compensated for household gas and its cylinder, MacBook Air computer from office funds.
Sigitas Karbauskas – “Kuriam kartu” – representative, although he only paid for fuel in cash, but the checks show the numbers of 92 different discount cards. And in the documents of non-partisan Martynas Pociaus, there are 10 payment cards and 60 discount cards.
Repaired cars every month
“Skaidrinam” investigation also revealed several council members who paid for car repair services very often. One of them is social democrat Andrius Adomaitis. He provided invoices for various repairs to the car, purchased tires, changed fuel filters, etc. However, the documents show that the politician repaired several different cars in this way.
Another social democrat, former long-term mayor Vaclovas Dačkauskas also repaired the car very often. In addition, the politician submitted checks for fuel, in which there are payments for both gasoline and diesel. During his tenure, the politician used two different bank cards and a couple of discount cards.
ELTA reminds that last spring, after publicist Andriis Tapinas initiated an investigation into the absorption of municipal politicians’ funds by “Skaidrina” and as a result a scandal arose regarding the possible misuse of office funds by politicians, a number of municipalities came under the scrutiny of law enforcement.
Currently, the Special Investigation Service (STT) is conducting 25 pre-trial investigations into the possible improper use of self-government funds in 24 municipalities: Vilnius (2 pre-trial investigations), Šiauliai, Panevėžys cities and Alytus, Utena, Ukmergė, Kretinga, Ignalina, Mažeikiai, Šilutė, Jonava, Lazdijai , in Pasvali, Prienai, Telšiai, Radviliškis, Joniškis, Tauragė, Zarasai districts and in the municipalities of Birštonas, Marijampole, Neringa, Pagėgiai, Druskininkai.
