Lithuania attacked us. Belarus makes surprising accusations that drones from Lithuania were supposed to attack Minsk. This information was provided by the Belarusian secret services, but the Lithuanian army strictly denies these reports.

“This is nonsense. I can’t find another word for it,” commented Gintautas Ciunis, representative of the Strategic Communication Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

Head of the KGB of Belarus, Ivan Tertelis, announced that the State Security Committee, in cooperation with other institutions responsible for security, took steps to repel attacks by combat drones against targets in Minsk and its suburbs from the territory of Lithuania.

The Lithuanian army denies these accusations. Major Gintautas Ciunis, representative of the Strategic Communication Department of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, described these reports as disinformation. “It is nonsense that Lithuania would organize a drone attack against Belarus. I can’t find another word for it,” said the major in an interview with the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT.

Živilė Didžgalvienė, the press representative of the commander of the Lithuanian army, also denied these accusations.

“The Lithuanian army has not taken hostile actions against other countries,” she noted.

Vilmantas Vitkauskas, the head of the Lithuanian Crisis Management Center, pointed out that there have already been accusations by the Belarusian authorities regarding attacks against Belarus by various groups from the territory of Lithuania and Poland. In his opinion, such accusations should be treated as “hostile provocation” and “informational attack against Lithuania”, which “has nothing to do with reality”.
