“We allow soldiers withdrawn from the war zone to recover their strength. In the first stage, the soldiers are allowed to rest, they are treated, and they are provided with preventive health care. Next, the soldiers will be trained in training centers. Both basic training for new recruits and professional training will be conducted, during which the soldiers will be prepared for future missions,” said O. Pavliukas. He added that the soldiers who have regained their strength will return to the front and fight the enemies even more fiercely.

Speaking about the army’s achievements at the front, Michailas Podoliaks, the advisor to the head of the president’s office, did not exude optimism. On the air of the New Voice radio station, he admitted that Ukrainian military units are stagnating on the front lines.

“We are in stagnation. We need to develop a scenario that predicts what we must do in terms of war as such, analyze resources and supply options, and assess the information component. This would allow our partners to better understand that it is stagnation that causes the war to become more expensive,” he stated. M. Podoliaks also specified that, after the appointment of former Intelligence chief Alexander Livinenko as the new head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSGT), the current situation was enhanced analytical component.

Asked to clarify what he meant by stagnation, the adviser said that, among other factors, it was a lack of resources that prevented the Ukrainians from mounting an effective offensive, the exclusively defensive operation of the Ukrainian military at the front, and the too slow supply of resources to Kiev by the allies.

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrsky, admitted a little earlier that the situation is difficult on almost the entire front and there is a risk of a Russian breakthrough in some of its parts. The former secretary of NSGT Aleksej Danilov mentioned that the country’s society is getting tired of the conflict.

Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Tumas Vaneskas assured that the Ukrainian embassy operating in the country can recruit Swedes for combat operations, as this is permitted by international law.
