The first UFC tournament in Saudi Arabia will be marked by the fight between R. Whittaker and Ch. Chimayev for the status of the first contender for the championship title

The 33-year-old Australian will face the first contender for the middleweight title in the main event of the first UFC event in Saudi Arabia on June 22. Robert Whittaker (25-7 MMA, 16-5 UFC) and 29-year-old Chamzat Chimayev (13-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC).

In addition to the fight between R. Whittaker and Ch. Chimaev, it was also announced that Sergej Pavlovich will return to the cage, and he will meet Alexander Volkov in the second main fight of the evening in a heavyweight duel.

Kelvin Gastelum will face Daniel Rodriguez at welterweight, while Johny Walker will fight Volkan Oezdemir.

In the final fight announced, Sharabutdin Magomedov, better known as “Shara Bullet”, will face Ihor Potieria in a heavyweight bout

This will be Ch.Chimayev’s first fight after defeating former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman last October. He has a total of 13 wins and no losses in his professional career, and enjoyed 7 consecutive victories in the UFC organization.

Chimayev will face one of the toughest tests he has had to date, as Whittaker is a former middleweight champion who scored an impressive victory over Paulo Costa in his last fight in February.
