From now on, not all mail will reach you in Gmail: the drastic change was prompted by one important reason

--

With email increasingly becoming a target for hackers, Gmail introduced new security measures in April. From now on, even more e-mails from suspicious senders will end up in the “spam” box, and some e-mails will never reach recipients at all.

Some letters are blocked

In April, one of the most popular emails email platforms Gmail has made important changes related to user security. From now on, all large numbers of emails Mailing users who do not meet the platform’s new authentication requirements will face the consequences of having their mail blocked.

By implementing these new requirements, Google aims to prevent malicious activity and reduce the amount of “spam” mail – cybercriminals who use unverified or compromised domains to distribute dangerous attacks.

“Most spam ends up in a dedicated folder. However, Gmail will now block some spam before it reaches your inbox. These new rules will apply only to those senders who send about 5,000 letters per day to personal user accounts,” says Arnoldas Lukošius, innovation expert at Tele2.

The expert notes that such a solution also has its drawbacks. Already, users had to check their spam folder frequently to make sure that there were no important messages waiting for them. It is possible that if the messages are mistakenly marked as spam, they will not reach the recipients at all from now on.

It will also offer one more function

Another innovation will soon reach Gmail users – from June 1. all a large number of e-mails email senders will be required to provide recipients with an easy way to opt out of unsolicited emails. This function will act as a button integrated in each letter, which after pressing the sender will have to remove the addressee from their recipient list within 48 hours.

“Many mass e-mails email service providers do not properly secure and configure their systems, making them easy prey for fraudsters. They hack into these systems and send fake emails impersonating companies or individuals. Confirming that the person sending the e-mail is who they say they are is a very important e-mail security requirement,” the expert notes.

From now on, all bulk e-mail senders will be required to confirm their e-mail address. mail authentication in the ways specified by Gmail.
