Weather forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė reports that on Thursday night in the western and north-western districts there is a possibility of rain with one or two wet snowflakes.

“A dry and cold anticyclone named Thomas has settled over almost all of Europe. But tomorrow and Friday, the cyclone system in the north and northeast will push it, and it will hook the Baltic States and Lithuania with clouds of atmospheric fronts. On Thursday night, only the north-east of Lithuania will be frosty, it will “feed”, and the western and north-western regions will be covered by rain with one wet snow. On Friday, we will get more rain, so there should be no frost in the air, only in the southern, sandy areas, there may still be a slight minus. From Saturday, cyclones with frontal clouds will move away, a dry, brighter but cool anticyclone will strengthen over Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. So at the weekend and the beginning of next week, it will be cool at night, frost will bite again, and the sun will warm up a little during the day. It should be warmer in the second half of the week,” writes forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė.

On the night of Thursday, May 9, there will be light precipitation, mainly rain, in the western and north-western districts, during the day there will be light rain at intervals. The wind will be south, southeast 4-8 m/s, in the afternoon it will turn to the west, northwest 6-11 m/s. At night plus 1-5°C, the warmest in the south-western districts, and in the north-eastern and eastern districts the air will freeze to 0 minus 2°C, here on the soil surface it will freeze to minus 2-5°C, during the day 10-14°C, in the north-east, east 7-9°C.

On Friday, at the beginning of the night of May 10, there will be no rain, the last in the western, north-western districts, during the day, rain clouds will travel throughout Lithuania.
