Construction of a new shopping center is planned to begin on the plot, between the Bajori “IKI” store and apartment buildings. Although the design proposals do not indicate which retail chain intends to locate in this shopping center, it is possible that a store of the German retail chain Lidl will be located there.
This month, the Vilnius city municipality administration issued a construction permit for this project.
It is planned to build a two-story building, the first floor of which will have a parking lot with 72 spaces. An escalator will take you to the second floor from the parking lot. On this, the second floor, it is planned to install 1571.87 m2 area trading hall.
“The building is planned to have one main entrance (for customers) and 4 secondary entrances (for employees and evacuation). The main entrance will be oriented from the south (Mokslininkų St.) side. The part of the building designed on the north side is intended for cargo vehicles. It is also planned to install parking spaces for cars in the western (14 vt.) and northern (22 vt.) parts of the planned plot, as well as on the first floor of the planned building (72 vt.). The total number of parking spaces – 108 parking spaces. It is planned to install one entrance to the plot from Bajori kel. Retail trade is expected to be carried out in the planned commercial building,” the design proposals say about the future building.
A part of the facade of the building is planned to be greened
The designers also mention that part of the facade of the building is going to be planted with greenery, as the aim is to make the commercial building blend in with the environment as much as possible. It is indicated that the southern facade will be formed by the main showcase, which will be constructed from an aluminum frame. The green facade will be on the western facade above the projected roof panels. The green facade will be oriented towards Loksininkai St. 11B designed multi-apartment residential buildings. The design proposals also state that the green areas in the courtyard of the commercial building will be planted with dwarf shrubs and medium-sized trees.
