Business publication “SportsBusiness” reports that the main competitor of Visa, the American company “Mastercard”, is currently negotiating with four “Formula-1” teams for sponsorship contracts.
McLaren is considered the favorite in the negotiations with Mastercard, as this team offers the position of main sponsor. If a deal goes through, the Woking-based team’s full name would be McLaren Mercedes Mastercard.
SportsBusiness names Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin as other teams in talks. There is a high probability that the final negotiations will take place in Miami, after which it will be announced who has become the partners of the big sponsor.
According to information, at the beginning of the year, Ferrari already offered Mastercard the main sponsor contract for 100 million. dollars per year, but the Italian IT company HP was chosen, whose offer was more generous. If Mastercard decided to work with Ferrari, it would have to settle for a lower-level contract.
