Most of the failed companies were short-lived, only a few people worked in them, and
no one had heard of the names at all. Such business structures
the withdrawal is not noticed by the residents or the business community.

Business regulatory authorities are also not overly responsive
attention – who cares about a company that did not create much benefit than the state
for the budget than for the population?

It is quite another thing when a large company refuses to do business. Then for sure
one should be concerned about why this happened and what the consequences will be.

International bakery and confectionery production groups of Finnish capital
Fazer’s management announcement about plans to withdraw from Kaunas – precisely
such It announces the bakeries in the Baltic countries under consideration
merge into one unit – it would operate in the Latvian city of Uogre – and
to close the “Gardėsios” bakery in Kaunas.

The owners of the bakery must be a little sneaky. If they are public
announced such unpleasant news, the project is no longer under consideration. He
accepted and approved at the level of all managers.

“Gardėsios” employees can already look for a new job, because until
At the end of the year, the bakery on Raudondvaris street will not remain.

Even Fazer’s management admitted that changes in Kaunas could lead to job losses
about 185 employees. Although they are planned additionally in neighboring Latvia
to accept up to 60, such news is little consolation for the people of Kaunas. They really are
will not go to work in Latvia every day.

Although the news about the withdrawal of a foreign investor does not cause anyone
pleasant sensations, this practice is common in the business world.

Even the world’s largest manufacturers are moving companies from one country to another
the other due to more favorable taxes or other benefits for investors, because
the goal of every entrepreneur is to operate as efficiently as possible.

In the case of Gardės, everything is even simpler. In two neighboring countries
the owner of the existing bakeries simply calculated that economically
it would be more useful to concentrate the activities in one place. It’s just sad that
that Kaunas, where “Gardėsis” is well known, was not chosen for the center
brand.

Bakery employees joke that she was chosen for the wrong activity
place, because Raudondvaris Avenue attracts bad energy.

Two decades ago, the main activity stopped in this district of Kaunas
the company “Liepsna” operated. It started its activities at the end of 1926
and then it was called “Lietuvos degtukų Aksine Company”.

At that time, the company had 60 workers and employees, at the beginning of the activity there were
“Jautis”, “Audra”, “Švyturys” matches are produced, and the main raw materials
were imported.

“Liepsna” survived the war years, successfully operated in the Soviet era, however
failed to withstand the competition, although the matches themselves are off the market
did not disappear, they are produced even in neighboring countries.

Even more dramatic is the fate of the “Inkars” factory that operated on the Raudondvaris road.
The industrial powerhouse that emerged in the Soviet years was famous for sports footwear
“Ankaras”, which was well known throughout the region.

It was even more difficult for this company to survive in the market because it had to endure
both famous brands and suppliers famous for cheap products from
Chinese pressure. When consumers tried Nike or Adidas sports
shoes, there was no desire to put one’s feet into “Inkaros” products.

The management of the factory was also looking for ways to save themselves, tried to take them
new activities, but the loop of bankruptcy tightened more and more, and salaries
Unpaid workers staged protest and even hunger strikes.

One can only be happy that those who worked at “Inkare” had a lot of troubles
the monster raised by the Kaunians is gone, and modern ones have risen in its place
structures.

Employees of “Gardėsios” who are waiting for dismissal notices are already
is wondering who could replace the one that has made Kaunas famous for almost three decades
bakery.
