“Go Vilnius”: most of them are project managers

Delphi contacted the company. Go Vilnius director Dovilė Aleksandravičienė said she would like to clarify that there are 9 managers in the Go Vilnius organization.

“1 agency head, 6 department heads and 2 sub-department heads. These positions have subordinate teams and are responsible for achieving strategic goals.

Other positions are occupied by project managers and specialists who do not have subordinates and perform the functions assigned to them. The activities of the “Go Vilnius” organization are carried out based on project management methodology, which is why most of the employees are project managers.

A project manager is a professional who is responsible for the implementation of projects, that is, planning, organizing and controlling projects involving people of different competences and stakeholders, and ensuring that the objectives are achieved,” she explained.

When asked about salaries, the director assured that they are determined in accordance with three factors – the law on remuneration of public institutions, not exceeding the salary limits specified therein, the competence of each employee, and the once-a-year Lithuanian salary survey conducted by the company UAB “Figure Baltic Advisory.”

“The public sector, in order to attract high-level professionals, competes with the private sector in terms of salaries, organizational atmosphere and culture, and additional benefits that employees receive.

The operation of Go Vilnius requires international competence, which is not abundant in our labor market, and the competition for competences takes place in the capital Vilnius, where many start-ups are located, which have a great advantage in attracting not only local but also foreign talents.

Therefore, in order to attract and retain highly competent people, we must keep up with the market and offer attractive remuneration and a high level of work culture to experts in their field”, said D. Aleksandravičienė.
