The verdict in the criminal case was announced in the Kaunas Chamber of the Kaunas District Court, in which NR from Kaunas was found guilty of an attack on the victim riding a scooter.
It was determined that in 2023 May 23 In the yard in the city of Kaunas, NR used physical violence against the victim – he hit him several times with his hand, kicked him dozens of times and jumped on the victim who was lying down. As a result of this attack, the person was diagnosed with a minor health disorder.
NR, questioned during the trial, partially admitted his guilt. He stated that on the day of the conflict, he was looking after the children outside, and he warned the victim, whom he knew from before, not to ride the scooter so fast near the children, but he did not react.
The defendant’s version that the conflict arose in order to protect the children was denied and was not confirmed, because the data collected in the case proved that the victim was not assaulted while riding a scooter, but while he was near the neighboring house, where the person was found by the arriving police officers and emergency medical workers. .
The accused agreed that he hit the victim in the face, as evidenced by his own broken finger from the impact, but denied the circumstances related to jumping on the victim. “The court considers such testimony as a person’s defensive position, because not only do they have no logical connection, but they also contradict other evidence collected in the case and examined directly in court,” states the judgment of judge Arūnas Purvainis.
in 2024 May 7 By the judgment of the Kaunas Chamber of the Kaunas District Court, NR was found guilty of minor health impairment (Article 138, d. 1 of the Criminal Code), and he was sentenced to the maximum possible 90-day prison sentence. The civil claim of the victim was also partially satisfied in the case. NR will have to compensate the property damage of 2868 euros and non-material damage of 2000 euros.
