An exhibition of the graphic works of painter, graphic artist, sculptor, scenographer, art researcher Vincas Kisarauskas (1934–1988) is exhibited in the third floor gallery of the Povilas Višinskis Public Library of Šiauliai County.

This year, the artist would have turned 90 years old. In commemoration of the anniversary, an exhibition was organized from the graphic works of the artist stored in the collections of the Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Public Library and Šiauliai “Aušras” Museum.

Cardboard and linoleum carvings dominate the collection presented by the “Aušros” museum in Šiauliai.

The collection of Povilas Višinskis Public Library of Šiauliai County consists of ex-libris. V. Kisarauskas created over 800 bookplates for various institutions, representatives of culture, science, art, and friends.

The artist’s graphic works were donated to the library and museum by Aistė Kisarauskaitė, the inheritor of V. Kisarauskas’ work.

V. Kisarauskas was born in 1934. Augmėnai (Radviliški district), died in 1988. in New York (buried in Vilnius).

He painted thematic (mainly antique and historical) compositions, portraits, still lifes, landscapes. He created prints, book illustrations, ex-libris (he was one of the initiators of the ex-libris movement), mosaics, medals, designed theater plays, and movies.

The artist also wrote art criticism articles, the monograph “Lithuanian Book Marks 1518-1918”, compiled the collection “Lietuvos Exlibris”.
