According to the Vilnius municipality, they started talking about the renovation of an old apartment building in the city center four years ago. Initially, it was planned to integrate renewable energy resources (RES) solutions into the building facade. The first modernization project was innovative, modern and ambitious. And although most of the residents of the apartment building believed in such a project, a few decisive votes were missing.
“We aim to make the Soviet “skyscraper” located in the new center of the capital, which gathers the city’s largest companies and performs a representative function, become an example of quality renovation.
We can think about renovation not only as a tool for increasing energy efficiency, but also as a way to significantly increase the value of your real estate and create a truly pleasant living environment, not far behind the new Vilnius microdistricts. This project will become a kind of good practice for the whole city”, Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas said in a statement.
According to the new project, it is intended to manage the electrical installation, the elevator, renew the facade, windows, balconies, fire protection, heating and sewage systems, and renew the cold and hot water pipelines.
According to the municipality, the total value of the project will reach 3.842 million. EUR., of which 3.565 million euros. will consist of contract works. The total state and municipal support will amount to 2.121 million. euros, and the residents themselves will have to pay 1.721 million. euros.
