The first meeting of the newly constituted Community Health Council was held

March 28 of this year. Telšiai district municipal council approved the new Community Health Council for a period of four years. Members of the council include: Gabrielė Narmontaitė, member of the Telšiai district municipal council (Chairperson of the Council), Simona Simaitytė, member of the Telšiai district municipal council (Deputy chairperson of the Council), chief specialist of the Telšiai district municipal administration (Municipal doctor) Indrė Šimulytė-Butkienė, senior specialist of the Education and Sports Department of the Administration Daiva Marčenkovienė, social worker of the Telšiai district primary health care center Jurgita Kilčiauskienė, director of the Telšiai district public health office Aurelijus Laurinavičius, chairwoman of the Telšiai Diabetic Society “Dia Telšiai” Virgilija Kaminskienė, representative of the Telšiai family center Akvalina Giedrė Nagienė and Telšiai disabled and disabled pensioners society delegated by Daiva Navickienė.

During the meeting, the Community Health Council planned four 2024 priority areas of health programs to be financed:

– Prevention of heart and circulatory diseases, diabetes, promotion of physical activity;

– Prevention of the use of alcohol, tobacco and other psychoactive substances;

– Strengthening the physical and emotional health of the community, training, popularizing health knowledge and spreading public health;

– Family planning counseling. Strengthening and education of the physical and psychological health of expectant and postpartum women.
