“Weather and climate in Lithuania” informs that the forecasts have been confirmed. The SKIRON dust model of the University of Athens shows that around 8 p.m. Lithuanian time, Saharan dust is fixed over Lithuania.

“The calculations have not changed. Today, dust from North Africa is flying over Lithuania. Since dust is high in the atmosphere, it poses no danger to us. Some dust with rain is expected to reach the surface late tonight and Friday night.

After raindrops dry, traces of dust may remain. The next portion of dust should arrive at the weekend, in the morning and in the evening, the Sun will likely be redder,” reads the “Weather and Climate in Lithuania” report.

Weekend weather

It will rain in many places on Friday night. Wind southeast, south, changing to southwest, 7-12 m/s, some gusts 15 m/s. Temperature 3-8 degrees Celsius. Short, light rain in places during the day. Wind southwest, 9-14 m/s, some gusts 15-17 m/s. Temperature 10-15 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday night, there will be light rain in some places, no significant rain is expected during the day. Wind southerly at night, changing direction during the day, 5-10 m/s. The temperature at night is 3-8 degrees, during the day 15-20 degrees, in the Curonian Spit it is about 13 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, it will rain briefly in some places, thunderstorms are possible. Wind southeast, south, 5-10 m/s at night, 7-12 m/s during the day. The temperature at night is 5-10 degrees, during the day 18-23 degrees.
