The result of the series softened to 1:3. It was the Lakers’ first win over the Nuggets after losing 11 straight.
The defending champion Nuggets never led in this meeting, and the Lakers’ biggest advantage was 19 points.

“Our defense in the penalty box was a joke,” said Nuggets point guard Michael Malone, whose players allowed 72 points in the penalty box.
