Parents or guardians can fill out electronic applications online from March 15 to May 31 imokykla.kaunas.lt. The registration system, which has been successfully functioning for several years, allows you to do this in just a few minutes.
If the assigned school is not selected among the desired educational institutions according to the declared place of residence in the territory of the municipality, the information system will assign it automatically.
“Kaunas’ achievements in the field of education have been among the highest in the country for several years, and the city continues to raise that quality bar: from renovated school buildings, renovated spaces and maintained sports fields to innovative educational methods and strengthening of pedagogues’ competencies.” The goal is one – that children in the city of Kaunas should have a modern, attractive and safe environment to study”, says Benjaminas Želvys, deputy chairman of the Education, Culture and Sports Committee of the Kaunas City Council.
If it is not possible to fill out the application in the information system, it is submitted directly to the chosen school. One child can be registered in two institutions in the city.
Priority is given to children whose place of residence is declared in the city of Kaunas and falls within the territory assigned to the school, closest to the educational institution. When evaluating the applications received, the date of declaration of the place of residence, the child’s special educational needs and siblings already studying at school are taken into account.
In the case of free places, the general education institutions of the city of Kaunas welcome all those who wish to and from other municipalities.
