A man who searched the ground with a metal detector found a piece of pure gold, its value is 35,000 euros

--

The man found the gold nugget last May while exploring land in Shropshire, western England.

According to the man, his metal detector was old and malfunctioning, but this did not prevent him from discovering an impressive treasure. R. Brokas emphasized that it is not the equipment that is important, but attention and observation.

The treasure hunter who found the piece of gold “couldn’t believe what he found at the search site”, but it is not yet known how the gold nugget got there.

Auction house Mullock Jones is now running an online auction that will end on April 1st. The gold nugget is expected to sell for at least $37,000 (roughly €35,000).

According to auction house manager and appraiser Ben Jones, this nugget is a “rare find”. It is believed that the nugget of gold could have come to this location in a number of ways, as the Welsh road/rail line was once built here.

The largest gold nugget ever found in the UK weighed 121.3 grams and was discovered in a Scottish river in 2019.
