According to local residents, a series of explosions were heard near the village of Razdorov, 10 km from the city of Smolensk, followed by noise and smoke from an oil storage facility.

Governor Vasily Anokhin said the fires broke out at fuel and energy facilities in two districts, although the second facility was not specified.

“It is highly likely that the fires at the civilian fuel and energy facilities in the Smolensk and Yartsevsk districts were caused by an enemy attack. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is on the ground and managing the situation. I urge everyone to remain calm and avoid panic,” the governor wrote.

Videos posted by local residents show a massive fire at the refinery. One commenter on the video remarked, “Mornings don’t start with coffee.”

According to V. Anochin, there were no casualties or injuries during the drone attack.

“Rescue and law enforcement services are currently on the scene, removing the effects and investigating the incident,” he wrote on his channel on the messaging platform Telegram.

It is said that another oil storage facility in the Voronezh region may have been hit during the drone attack. Several videos posted on social media purportedly show a fire at an oil storage facility following a drone strike.

Ukrainian strike in the Smolensk region

According to reports, power substations and a fuel storage base on Russian territory were damaged during the operation.

The large-scale drone strike in eight Russian regions is a joint operation involving Ukrainian military intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine and Special Operations Forces.

The main goal was to disrupt the energy infrastructure serving Russian military industrial facilities. Power and water supply were reportedly disrupted in some areas following the attacks.
Sources indicate that at least three power substations and a fuel storage base were affected by the special operation, leading to fires. Specifically, an oil refinery in the Smolensk region, as well as electrical substations in Kaluga and Bryansk, were targeted.
