A strong geomagnetic storm has reached the Earth – MadeinVilnius.lt

Magnetic storms are powerful bursts of solar radiation that affect not only the Earth, but also human well-being. “Meteofor” informs that today (March 24) a solar storm reached the Earth, which strengthened to a 5-point index already in the evening. Meanwhile, the storm will strengthen to 6 on Monday night, before reaching 5 again in the morning. This strength of the storm will continue until Tuesday evening.

How can health be affected during such storms?

Long-term research has confirmed that sudden and strong changes in geomagnetic and solar activity, as well as geomagnetic storms, can act as stress-causing factors for a living organism, and of course for humans. During such a period, blood pressure may increase, breathing may be impaired, and the immune, neurological, and cardiac systems may also be adversely affected. It has been observed that during such storms there is a significant increase in hospitalizations due to depression, mental disorders, psychiatry, suicide attempts, homicides or traffic accidents.

Geomagnetic storms can also significantly impair the health of those with chronic illnesses. This category includes heart arrhythmia, cardiovascular diseases, increased risk of heart attack.

So what can be done so that the health is affected as little as possible?

People with the aforementioned risk factors should avoid being outdoors for long periods of time during such storms. It is also recommended to avoid cigarettes, alcohol, strong coffee and energy drinks. It is better to eat as lean as possible and food that does not burden the body. Drink as much fluid as possible and avoid stressful situations.
