As indicated in the report, Vilnius will compete with Gloucestershire (United Kingdom), Turin (Italy) and Torremolinos (Spain) for the right to organize EuroPride.

The application will be presented to EPOA members of the European Pride organizers association in 2024. during the annual meeting of EPOA members in Porto (Portugal) in November.

The organization notes that it submits the application to organize EuroPride in Vilnius in close cooperation with LGBT communities, human rights organizations, Vilnius City Municipality, inclusive business leaders and representatives of the world of entertainment “MAMA”.

“I am glad that Vilnius is becoming a city that is more and more open to the LGBT community, and that the initiative to apply to organize EuroPride in Vilnius in 2027 also receives the support of the Vilnius City Municipality and other partners. Vilnius will apply for the opportunity to organize EuroPride for the first time”, assures Vladimir Simonko, head of LGL.

EuroPride is the largest and most important festival of the LGBT community in Europe, organized every year in a different European city. Which city is most deserving of hosting EuroPride is decided by the general meeting of members.

In 2024, EuroPride will be held in Thessaloniki (Greece), in 2025 in Lisbon, in 2026 in Amsterdam (together with WorldPride).

Since 2009, the national LGBT rights organization LGL, together with partners from Latvia and Estonia, has been organizing the LGBT community festival “Baltic Pride” in the Baltic States on a rotating basis.

The next LGBT community festival “LT Pride” in Vilnius will be held in 2024. June 4-8
