“The enemy again attacked the country’s energy infrastructure, especially facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions […]. The equipment was damaged,” H. Halushchenko wrote on the Facebook social network.

Four thermal power plants were severely damaged, DTEK, one of the country’s largest energy companies, announced separately.

At that time, the mayor of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported on the Telegram platform that two people were injured in night attacks in his city: an 82-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man.

The Ukrainian military announced that the Russians attacked Ukraine overnight with 34 missiles and that 21 of them were shot down.

“The enemy used various types of missiles, including ballistic missiles; Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were hit,” the army said in a statement.

“Some missiles were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses. “Several people were injured, no casualties have been reported yet,” the army said.

Moscow has been intensifying strikes on Ukraine’s energy system in recent months, disrupting electricity supplies and forcing Ukrainian officials to ask consumers to conserve electricity.

Maksym Kozycki, the governor of the western Lviv region, called on residents from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. do not connect appliances that use a lot of electricity, such as kettles, irons, washing machines, microwave ovens.

“The energy system is struggling to maintain a balance between production and consumption,” he said in a Telegram post.
