On Friday morning, there was a painful accident on Putinai Street. According to initial data, a man was killed in a collision between two cars.
The accident happened around 7 am. in the morning Firefighters, police, and medics were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, a person was trapped in one of the cars. After being freed from the car, he was pronounced dead.
Services are working at the scene. The section of the street is impassable.

As informed by Kristina Janulevičienė, Head of the Communications Sub-Department of the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat, a 76-year-old man driving a Volkswagen Passat was killed during the incident.
The 41-year-old driver of the other car “Volvo S60” was taken to the Alytus hospital due to injuries.
According to initial data, the accident occurred when the driver of the Volkswagen Passat, who had left the side road, failed to miss the Volvo S60 driving on the main road and collided with it.
