On the night from Saturday to Sunday, the WBA regular welterweight world champion of the 29-year-old Eimantas Stanionis (15-0-0, 9 knockouts) returned to the boxing ring after a 2-year break and dominated the 37-year-old Venezuelan Gabriel Maestre (6-1-1, 5 knockouts) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (USA).
E. Stanionis was not completely satisfied with his performance in the ring, although he made a record number of punches and there was no doubting his superiority over G. Maestre, but he was happy with the victory and the fact that he finally became a free agent.
“I have been waiting so long for this moment, which I have imagined so many times. And it was completely different, but unique,” E. Stanionis wrote on social networks. “I am very happy to return to the ring and defend my title. It still sounds unbelievable, but I did it. Happy and “free agent” – the best combination in the world!
