Portal lrytas.lt according to sources, before V. Melazdė’s concert, protesters carrying placards and flags began to gather near the Avia Solutions Group arena.

The protesters’ posters have Putin’s face smeared with blood and the inscription “Russiai Killture” – some of them appeared dressed in Lithuanian flags.

Those gathered not only spoke against Russia, but also used aggression. According to witnesses, the protesters attacked a man who came to listen to V. Meladze, and used violence against him – he was strangled.

A girl who actively does not support Russia’s actions also tried to enter the arena and had to be escorted out of the building by security guards.

At the moment, the concert is still going on – witnesses said that the historical white-red-white flags of Belarus are being waved during it.

The witness reported that it is likely that the protest may intensify after the concert.

As the portal announced lrytas.lt, a report about the performer V. Meladze appeared in the country on Tuesday. Rumors spread that the well-known singer had repeatedly performed in Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine.

After contacting the organizers of the event, Bravo events, and representatives of the Avia Solutions Group arena, where the concert took place, these rumors were denied.

“After Russia attacked Ukraine, the performer was one of the first to share a video on his social networks calling on the authorities to stop the military aggression. As far as we know, the artist does not perform in Russia, but organizes shows in Europe and the USA,” Bravo events representatives commented.

The representatives of the Avia Solutions Group arena announced that the organizers confirmed that V. Meladze had not performed a single concert in Russia in the last two years.

“The performer travels around Europe (Germany, France, Poland, Belgium) and the US states, where he holds his solo concerts. The performer continues to express support for Ukraine, and is also included in the “black” list of Russian performers and called a traitor to the nation.

According to the performer’s managers, Russia is going to strip him of his citizenship for supporting Ukraine,” the representative of the arena said.
