The California-born but Panamanian defender died after a sudden onset of health problems, according to his brother Ramon Douglas, who did not elaborate.

The athlete started his professional career in Greece in 2003, but he really gained momentum only after moving to Italy. R.Douglas, wearing the shirt of “Fortitudo” from Bologna, hit the decisive three-pointer in the final of the national championships against the Milan club and brought the trophy to his team.

In the summer of 2005, he moved to Dynamo Moscow, with which he triumphed in the European Cup and became the MVP of the final, scoring 17 points against Aris Thessaloniki.

Later, R.Douglas spent three years in Valencia, briefly played in the Euroleague wearing the Roma “Lottomatica” shirt, and ended his career in 2012.
