The World Athletics Organization (World Athletics) awarded the runner a 21-month suspension.

V. Stašauskaitė’s result achieved in the Vilnius marathon was also annulled, and Inga Bartkė became the leader and winner in the updated results.

“I was never introduced to the anti-doping rules, I never saw the lists with permitted or prohibited substances, I did not put my signature anywhere that I know what it is, what substances are available, what, how and the like. I never consulted anyone about supplements, I independently read on the Internet what the body needs, I bought supplements and vitamins for myself on the Internet,” said V. Stašauskaitė in November of last year.

The runner herself did not deny her act and admitted that she used prohibited substances

The end of V. Stašauskaitei’s disqualification sentence is scheduled for June 9, 2025.
