The new ARATC waste acceptance procedure is a waste of residents’ time and a direct waste path to forests…

On the 2nd of May, after the spring maintenance work and the first grass cutting test, I decided to take the collected waste and cut grass to the Prienai bulky waste collection site as usual. Based on years of practice, I knew it would take 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately, my wishes were dashed very quickly, as I stood at the gate for 15 minutes, spent another five to seven minutes waiting, and then submitting documents and answering questions about what I had brought. Earlier, during that time, I would have long ago sorted everything into the appropriate containers and left. Because there were always two employees near the waste carriers who advised where to put or throw things, because some waste had to be thrown into the containers from above. But everything went quickly and smoothly. Now, the sorting procedure has not changed, but there was one employee working at the carriers and he was really not “sweet”.

After the unloading operations, it was still necessary to wait at the exit because the gate was closed. When I got home, I calculated that 20 min. I spent almost an hour. Got a better and clearer service? Not really.

In my opinion, every container should have clear instructions on what kind of waste to throw where. Because the inscription “Wood” does not mean at all that you have to throw all the wooden waste you think is there. As in a glass container, not all glass can be thrown. And where are the questions about furniture, various household appliances and electronic devices.
Maybe instead of all kinds of paper handling procedures, increase the number of employees-consultants and display or place stands near the containers with clear information?
In the last year, with the installation of large-sized waste collection sites, forest pollution has been significantly reduced, but apparently the new management of ARATC is more important to “paper” matters than cleanliness in the forests. Because you don’t need to be a great witch to understand that there will be people who will not wait at the gates of closed sites, but will simply come up with a simpler way to “get rid of” waste. There must be order, but there is no need to enter algebraic integrals instead.
Until now, ARATC has been the leading waste management center in Lithuania, and where it will end up after the introduction of such innovations is completely unclear. And how bad was the cumulative accounting? After all, even now, no one weighs the waste brought in and checks every item, because it is physically impossible to do this.

The management of ARATC better control how the sorting bins installed in the city are cleaned because they look terrible, especially the food waste openings.
And yet, why weren’t residents warned about the innovation? When it is necessary to send invoices, it knows to whom and where, and information about such changes could only be seen on the websites of municipalities.
