England coach Gareth Southgate is calling on UEFA to adopt what he believes is an important rule.

With the 2024 European Championship inexorably approaching, the officials of the Old Continent are considering what size of players the teams will be able to bring to the football fiesta.

in 2020 European and 2022 26 footballers were allowed to be registered in the world championships.

However, after the end of the coronavirus pandemic, it is being considered to return to the previous rule and allow coaches to include three athletes less.

According to the English media, such a change would be inconvenient for the “Three Lions” team, which has a number of tired footballers in its ranks, and the threat of potential injuries hangs over them.

G. Southgate also agreed with this opinion:

“It would be really difficult to manage with 23 players. It is fortunate that another UEFA meeting awaits, during which there will be an opportunity to take into account the opinion of the coaches and increase this number.

We have to make the best decisions, knowing that this is also related to the field of health.”
