Lando Norris joins Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen as Grand Prix winners in recent years.

Race highlights on YouTube.

Taking advantage of the circumstances, the McLaren driver overtook Max Verstappen and won his first career victory.

The race started as usual. Max Verstappen withstood the pressure of his pursuers and kept the first place. True, the speed of Red Bull was not so exceptional, as the closest pursuer Oscar Piastris was only 3 seconds behind.

At the start of the race, Sergio Perez almost caused chaos when he entered the first corner quickly and almost crashed into his teammate, and the Ferrari drivers were simply shocked by the actions of the Mexican.

O. Piastris overtook Charles Leclerc with good McLaren speed and was second until the fateful event. The fatal event in the race, you could say, was the safety car.

The safety car was on the track on lap 29. Kevin Magnussen, who left no room for Logan Sargeant, eliminated the American from the race and received a 10-second penalty.

At that time, Lando Norris had not yet visited the pits, so it was a great opportunity for him to stay in first place. The safety car messed up as it entered the track in an attempt to get ahead of Max Verstappen. However, the leader of the race was McLaren’s Briton.

Having demonstrated a good pace after the safety car exit, L. Norris triumphed, adding the long-awaited first victory of his career to his CV.

Max Verstappen was second, with Charles Leclerc rounding out the podium, ultimately failing to keep up the Dutchman’s pace.

Fourth was Carlos Sainz, who battled with Oscar Piastri for a long time after the safety car. Both riders had moments that were considered by the judges. One of them will still be considered after the race, so the Spaniard’s place is not already guaranteed. Piastris damaged his front wing and was only 13th. PS Carlos received a time penalty and dropped to fifth place after the race.

Sergio Perez finished fifth, while Hamilton, who complained of a lack of power, finished sixth. He was followed by Mercedes teammate George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda, who raced solidly. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon closed the top ten.
