In the quarter-final series, up to three wins – a tie. In the second match, “Monaco”, which celebrated its victory, defeated Sharo’s army 93:88 (31:21, 23:29, 11:24, 28:14).

The “Monaco” team started the match on a high note – D. Motiejūnas opened the score with a two-point shot, and the home team, inspired by him, ran 9-0.

The problems of “Fenerbahce” did not end there – in the middle of the quarter, after a collision with an opponent, the guest’s midfielder Sertach Šanli suffered a leg injury and was forced to leave the field.

The Istanbul club, which was left without an important tall man, continued to be punished by the drowsy D. Motiejūnas, who scored 10 points and collected 13 utility points in the first quarter.

Tyler Dorsey tried to liven up the attack of the guests, who not only distinguished himself with important long shots, but also early on provoked the second personal foul of Monaco’s leader Mike James.

The hosts, who had a 16-point advantage at one time, were ahead 31:21 after the first ten minutes.

In the second half, Fenerbahce felt more confident and began to get closer to their opponents.

Scottie Wilbekin made four long shots in the first half of the game. At first glance, it seemed that the first part of the game was not very successful for Shar’s army, but after that the guests trailed by just four points – 50:54.

As in the first match, as in the second match of the series, Fenerbahce was even more aggressive after the break.

From the start of the third quarter, Shar’s army suffocated the opponents and took the lead for the first time in the game in a flash. A cold shower in the third quarter did not wake up Monaco’s basketball players – the home team continued to falter in attack, and combative forward John Brown also suffered a shoulder injury.

At that time, Fenerbahce started to move away from the opponents step by step and led 74:65 after three quarters.

“Monaco” started the fourth quarter with a completely different change – Saša Obradović’s students started the quarter with a 12-1 lead.

As the quarter passed, the hard-fought battle and the war of nerves continued across the equator.

Fenerbahce’s attack created a good chance, but the bag was tied for the guests, and E. Okobo became the guide of Monaco at a crucial moment, who contributed five points in a row to a crucial section of the home team.

At the end of the quarter, emotions began to heat up – Š. Jasikevičius, who screamed at the referees very emotionally and jumped in anger, received a technical penalty, D. Motiejūnas was also penalized for an unsportsmanlike foul.

At the start of the last minute of the fourth quarter, S. Wilbekin did not take advantage of a great opportunity to equalize the result, and then after a stupid foul by Fenerbahce, J. Lloyd increased the home team’s advantage (89:85).

It seemed that Monaco would win the duel comfortably, but with 30 seconds left in the game. S. Wilbekin nailed a long shot and two points separated the teams again (90:88).

At a critical moment, Jordan Lloyd hit the most important three-pointer of the match through the hands of the opponent. The American delivered a very important victory to his team and the result of the series became even.

D. Motiejūnas scored 18 points (2/4 doubles, 3/4 triples, 5/6 penalties), rebounded 2 balls and collected 21 utility points in the winning match.

Lithuanian Gytis Vilius was the judge in this duel.
