A cyclone bringing changes will approach Lithuania on Tuesday night. Starting from the southwestern part, the cloudiness will increase, we will already get rain in some places. The wind will not change direction, it will remain weak. The night is expected to be quite warm, the temperature will not fall below 7-12 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the cyclone will cover the entire country. The sky will be overcast almost everywhere, sunlight will remain only in the first half of the day in the eastern regions. In many areas, we will already receive rain, and in some places it will be quite heavy. A strong westerly wind will blow, the gusts of which will reach up to 15-18 m/s in some places. The highest temperature in the greater part of the country will already be between 9 and 14 degrees. It will warm up the most, up to 18-19 degrees, in the eastern part of the country, but both here and in the rest of the country, it will be warmest in the first half of the day, and then the temperature will drop rapidly.
We will be in the southwest part of the cyclone on Wednesday. During the night, the sky will remain overcast, rain will fall intermittently in many areas. As the cold air mass advances, wet snowflakes will mix with the rain in places. An unpleasant west, north-west wind will blow, the gusts of which will reach 15-20 m/s in some places. The lowest temperature will be between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius.
The situation will change slightly on Wednesday. There will be no shortage of low, fast-moving clouds, and the chance of clear skies is expected to be minimal. Intermittent rain is forecast in many districts, accompanied by wet snow in some places. A gusty west, north-west wind will blow, the gusts of which will reach a dangerous 15-20 m/s in the greater part of the country. The highest temperature will reach only 3-8 degrees Celsius.
On Thursday night, the cyclone will move away, the clouds will disperse and significant precipitation is no longer expected. The northerly wind will remain gusty, but there should be no dangerous gusts. You will need to be careful on the roads as the temperature will return to negative – the air will cool down to 0-5 degrees below zero. During the day, a new cyclone will approach, so in the evening it will rain briefly in the west of the country. The clouds will not gather too much, we will see the sun as often. A mass of warmer air will move along the southeastern edge of the low-pressure vortex, so even after a cold night, it will warm up to 5-10 degrees in the afternoon.
We will be in the eastern part of the cyclone on Friday. It will rain at night in places, during the day in many areas. A moderate southerly wind will blow. It will be a little warmer – at night the temperature will range from 1 degree of cold to 4 degrees of heat, and during the day the air will warm up to 8-13 degrees.
Based on current data, clouds will thin out, rain chances will decrease, and temperatures will climb back up over the weekend.
