“The series “Not for you, Martyna!” is the longest, biggest, most expensive and most ambitious television project of me and Emil Vëlyvis. “I am very happy that although the main theme of the series is the conflict of generations, the emphasis is on the theme of freedom, democracy and its price. The ways chosen by Martyna, the protagonist of the series, are a reflection of the free generation that grew up in free Lithuania. Today, the fact that we are accepted by an institution like the Seimas and allows us to laugh and speak boldly and freely about political topics is a real victory for freedom and democracy,” said series director Domas Vilčinskas.
“During the premiere, I received an offer to re-incarnate the character of Martyna for a short time, but I will definitely not do that, because cursing is not allowed in the Seimas (laughs). Playing Martynas Rainytė in the series also raised my own personal self-esteem. I realized that I am not as difficult to live with as it seemed before. Of course, with all respect and love, I say that Martyna really had reasons to be the way she is. Well, you’ll see for yourself. I wish everyone to love themselves”, said Sofija Gedgaudaitė, who played Martyn in the series, struggling to contain her excitement.
As the election fever heats up more and more, viewers will see a comical and dramatic election fight in the series, the likes of which even the Seimas Chamber has never seen before! The heroine of the new series “Not for you, Martyna!” by directors E. Vëlyvis and D. Vilčinskas is a twenty-year-old daughter of an influential politician, whose life is one big violation of the rules.
When she shakes up the whole town with her birthday party, the career of her father, member of the Seimas Vytautas Rainis, hangs in the balance, so he orders his daughter under house arrest. But Martyna is not one of those who gives up easily and in rebellion decides… to go to the elections against her father.
More and more actors get involved in the fight for the elections, who stand on different barricades of the fight between father and daughter. A fierce, dramatically comical election race of family candidates due to ambitions, convictions, different worldviews and motives begins.
