“For the time being, the decisions are that Viktoras Uspaskich, like himself, probably suspends his membership in the party until those procedural matters take place,” A. Mazuronis commented to LRT television during the meeting of the Council of the Labor Party on Thursday evening.

According to him, the party’s participation in the European Parliament elections is also intensively discussed at the meeting.

This is what the Chairman of the Labor Party commented after the Financial Crimes Investigation Service (FNTT) officials visited the party’s headquarters in Vilnius regarding the investigation being conducted by the European Prosecutor’s Office, possibly related to the activities of the party’s founder V. Uspaskich in the EP.

“I’m exhausted. From one š to another š, the creation of which I did not participate in any way. I’m already tired myself, and I feel sorry for the children who go to school. You have to explain after the cases that you are not a thief, constantly prove. Now there are some stories again, where no one is involved, or something, to mutter such shit, sorry, I’m tired, yes”, A. Mazuronis commented to the journalists of the Seimas on Thursday.

The workers who commented on the situation in the Seimas on Thursday did not hide that one of the ideas was to suggest that the party even “give up”.

Earlier Delphi The Deputy Chairman of the Labor Party, Viktoras Fiodorov, interviewed said that he did not have much information about why the officials attacked the party’s headquarters in Vilnius. The politician said he only knew that the Labor Party had no standing in the case.

With the representative of “workers” in the European Parliament, party founder V. Uspaskich Delphi could not be contacted. The chairman of the party A. Mazuronis confirmed that the case is related to the former leadership of the party.

The Labor Party has repeatedly found itself in the sights of law enforcement. In the so-called “black bookkeeping” case, the party has been accused of fraudulent accounting. V. Uspaskichas, the leader of the party at that time, and currently imprisoned MP Vytautas Gapšys and other persons were sentenced to fines.

The Labor Party was found guilty of bribery and influence trading in the “MG Baltic” case – it was awarded more than 300,000. a fine amounting to EUR 10,000, and the former party member V. Gapšys was sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison.
