This week, three Baltic Youth Football League (BYFL) quarterfinal matches took place in Kaunas and Vilnius, and the four strongest teams of the U16 age group were revealed.

Be1 NFA already took a 4-goal lead in the first match against FS Metta, so in the second leg on Thursday they enjoyed the game and tried to keep the performance bar high.

The spectators in Kaunas saw a 3-0 victory for the home team, thanks to the goals of Justas Rakauskas (18 minutes), Tomas Gudaitis (19 minutes) and Mariaus Cirulis (78 minutes). The Be1 NFA community gave an emotional thanks to coach David Muslera Rodriguez, who led this team for the last time, with whom they won the BYFL U15 championship last year.

On Saturday, Vilnius BFA and VFA “Iležinis vilkas” played the return match. The visiting team came to the BFA Arena hoping to erase the one-goal deficit from the first encounter, but instead, they conceded a goal scored by Kajus Paulauskas in the 2nd minute. The “black and white” couldn’t overcome the difficult task in the remaining time, so they were eliminated from the tournament.

In the first semi-final of the BYFL U16 division, Tallinn FC Nõmme United will meet Vilnius BFA, and the other pair will be Be1 NFA – FK Žalgiris.
