As usual, the people of Kaunas paid one of the lowest prices for heat in the country – it was lower than 7 ct/kWh or almost 13 percent during the entire heating season. lower than the national average.

Compared to 2022-2023 during the heating season, the price of heat in Kaunas decreased by about 22 percent.

In March, compared to the same month last year, the people of Kaunas received about 20 percent. lower heating bills. For 50 sq. meters, residents paid 46 euros for an old building apartment (last year – 54 euros), residents of Kaunas living in a renovated apartment building – 25 euros (32 euros), newly built – 22 euros (30 euros).

Municipalities announce the beginning and end of the heating season, taking into account the average daily temperature and weather forecasts. The heating season usually ends in the middle or second half of April. Last year, the heating season in the city of Kaunas ended on April 13, in the district on April 14, and in the previous season, on April 25 and 26, respectively.

We remind you that residents can decide for themselves when to start or end the heating season. According to the procedure established by the Heat Supply and Consumption Rules, they can make a decision by majority vote (50 percent + 1 co-owner).

The heat supplier must be informed about the decision in accordance with the established procedure. The heating is turned on or off by the administrator or supervisor in charge of the heating and hot water system of the apartment building.
