“This is probably the most important work for me. I believe that the words of this song may sound too pompous to some, but I believe in them: love is an energy that can spread forever, even if we are gone. And I am very grateful to my sister, who encourages me to create exactly the way I want,” the artist presents the work.
The piece, whose live performance version is now being released on video by Godo Yorke, was filmed earlier this year in St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius. There, “I’ll Love You Always” was played live for the first time, it was performed with a band and a choir.
As the performer herself tells, the performance in St. Catherine caused a real storm of emotions in the church: from tears to pride and real ecstasy.
“I will make sure that everyone is well and happy. I really wanted everyone to feel good and allow themselves to fully reveal themselves, and I just enjoyed that it happened at all – I enjoyed every minute and every piece,” recalls Godo of the concert.
This is the biggest and most important concert in Godo Yorke’s career so far: during it, special guests appeared, St. The voices of the St. John’s Gospel Choir, the strings of the kanjis vibrated, other beloved friends and talented musicians joined in.
“It was very emotional to perform “I’ll Always Love You” right there, because I wanted the audience to really hear it. This is my message to every Lithuanian, because it is not only “about love”, but also about the light after the darkest nights”, says Godo Yorke.
The album “Perkūnija”, in which “Aš Tave Mylėsiu Visada” was recorded, is extremely sensual and literary, born from the desire to explore one’s shamanic, archaic and at the same time saturated Lithuanianness of the Western world.
And the live version of “I’ll Always Love You” is available today on Godo Yorke’s YouTube account and all digital music platforms.
