“The data we have shows that the habits of consumers to shop online continue to grow in all Baltic countries. Accordingly, the demand for parcel terminals is also growing. The new logistics center in Estonia will triple the capacity of our sorted parcels in the mentioned country and ensure quality services throughout the year,” says Gediminas Mickus, manager of the Smartpost Itella company.

According to him, the new logistics center will help further automate the delivery processes and increase the company’s capacity. The future center is created using the so-called smart house concept, which means that the sensor system installed in the building allows remote control and continuous monitoring of all processes.

The new logistics center will be opened early next year. Its area will be about 7,500 square meters, and in the future it can be expanded by another 2,400 square meters.

The future logistics center will also have charging stations for e-cars. It will be possible to load up to 82 cars at the same time. And this will bring the company even closer to zero carbon dioxide emissions. During the design of the new building, great attention was also paid to ensuring work safety.
