Have you visited the famous Oktoberfest beer festival in Munich? And maybe in LithuanianOktoberfest? You have the chance to do it on the first weekend of April – although the festival itself is organized in the fall, on April 5-6. A Bavarian weekend will be held in Kaunas, the main attributes of which – traditional food, drinks and music – will definitely make you feel like you are at the famous Oktoberfest.

According to Audronė Saulėnienė, the coordinator of the Brewery Competence Center of Wolfs Engelman, the organizers of the Bavarian weekend, everyone who longs for Bavarian traditions or wants to get to know them is welcome at the event.

“This is a great opportunity to feel the Bavarian spirit. We have prepared a rich menu inspired by the historical recipes of the royal family’s kitchen, so a real feast awaits. The tables will be loaded with traditional German dishes such as pretzels with a mixed drink and three-cheese spread, meatloaf, German sausages, pork loin, potato dumplings, braised red cabbage, veal schnitzels, bratwurst with potato salad, and duck legs. There will also be desserts – apples with vanilla sauce, baked in wheat dough, and strudel with apples”, says A. Saulėnienė about the upcoming fiesta.

According to her, guests will be invited to taste wrapped drinks from liter glasses at the celebration.

“For a special Bavarian weekend, we will brew two types of new drinks, and the rest will come directly from the Bavarian Royal Brewery. Of course, we won’t do without traditional music either – the Allegretto Band will entertain the audience, which performs every year at the Oktoberfest celebrations organized by us. She will perform such pieces as “Rosamunda”, “Sauerkraut Polka”, “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit” and other well-known traditional tunes”, says the brewer’s brewing competence center coordinator.

Even more Bavarian traditions

in 2023 In the spring, “Wolf Engelman” signed a cooperation agreement with His Royal Highness Prince Luitpold von Bayern and his company “König Ludwig International”. Bravor was granted permission to brew the royal Bavarian drink, and his first batch was delivered to Lithuania last June.

“Last year, we officially became the nurturer of Bavarian traditions in Lithuania. However, even before signing the contract, we were fans of Bavarian culture and wanted to introduce it to the people of Lithuania – this year we will organize Oktoberfest for the sixth time in Kaunas. Bavarian traditions have always been very close to our team, and this year we felt the desire to share them even more often. Therefore, the idea arose to make people happy by organizing another celebration of Bavarian traditions, which we can really call a small “Oktoberfest”. We invite everyone to participate and reserve a table in advance. You can do this by phone or email. by mail”, invites the general director of the company, Marius Horbačauskas.

Bavarian weekend will take place on April 5-6 in Kaunas, “Volfas Engelman Gallery”, Kaunakiemio st. 2. April 5 the event will start at 18:00 on April 6. – 1 p.m. You can reserve a table by phone +370 616 36 741 or e-mail by post [email protected].
