According to the data of the Central Election Commission (CEC), V. Tutkus, four minutes before the end of the deadline, submitted five files with paper signature collection sheets declaring that they contained 8,783 signatures of Lithuanian citizens with the right to vote.

It was also established that 10,000 people supported his candidacy electronically. 520 voters.

In order to run for president, a person must collect at least 20 thousand. voters’ signatures.

G. Kniukšta, who sought the post of president, submitted over 700 voters’ signatures to the CEC on Thursday: he submitted 304 signatures on the election sheets, and another 462 voters signed for him electronically.

After the deadline for collecting voters’ signatures expired on Thursday evening, the CEC stated that 1,030 voters had signed electronically for A. Rimkas. He did not take paper signature sheets of voters.

More than 20 thousand the voters’ signatures were submitted by presidential candidates Giedrimas Jeglinskas, Andrius Mazuronis, Gitanas Nausėda, Ingrida Šimonytė, Eduardas Vaitkus, Aurelijs Veryga, Ignas Vėgėlė, Dainius Žalimas and Remigijus Žemaitaitis.

Thursday is the last day for presidential candidates to submit signatures of voters supporting their candidacies.

After receiving the signature collection sheets, the CEC will check them within ten days and confirm the final number of collected signatures.

The presidential election will be held on May 12.
