Vilnius is optimizing the network of cultural institutions – the Vilnius Teachers’ House and the Vilnius Cultural Center will become one institution. During these changes, the aim is to strengthen the capital’s cultural ecosystem and create collaborative spaces conducive to the city’s culture. As before, St. The event halls of St. Catherine’s Church and Teachers’ House will be rented for external concerts and conferences, and the employees will be transferred to the Vilnius Cultural Center.

“The Vilnius teachers’ house has been inseparable from cultural activities for many years, but until now the building did not have a common cultural concept. Connecting the teachers’ house to the institution that coordinates the city’s cultural events will make it possible to better utilize creative spaces, distribute funds more rationally, create better conditions for the cultural community, and offer a wider range of cultural services to the people of Vilnius,” says Vilnius Vice-Mayor Simona Bieliūnė.

After the merger of the institutions, it is planned to transfer all the managed property related to cultural activities (39 Vilniaus St.) in trust to the JV Vilnius Cultural Center, which will pursue the newly formulated goals.

St. The administration of St. Catherine’s Church would be transferred to JV Vilnius Cultural Center from July 1, 2024. The consent of the Vilnius archdiocese was also received regarding St. Transfer of the administration of St. Catherine’s Church building to the Vilnius Cultural Center.
