Last weekend, the selection competition for the European Archery Championship organized by the Lithuanian Archers’ Federation took place at the Kaunas Athletics Arena. A total of 18 athletes were invited to this selection, including 3 from Alytis – Rolandas Baranauskas, Giedrius Kavaliauskas and Emilis Tamulionis.

Rolandas Baranauskas and Giedrius Kavaliauskas from Alytis organized an impressive and tense fight for the last place in the Lithuanian national team in the pulley hoop group. At the end of the qualifying competition, the results of both archers were equal, so the owner of the last place was decided by 1 additional shot. Roland managed to withstand the tension better this time, and he got a place in the national team and the opportunity to represent Lithuania in the European Archery Championship.

Emiliis Tamulionis, who started in the Olympic hoops group, lacked a few points and success. Although the ASRC-Greenbow representative showed his best result, this time he took the 6th place, and only the best 3 archers of this group made it to the national team.

This year, 3 Alytus archers – Rolandas Baranauskas, as well as Paulina Ramanauskaitė and Inga Timinskienė – who already secured their places in the Lithuanian national team this year. A total of 8 Lithuanian archers will test their strength at the European Archery Championship in Essen (Germany) in May.
