Slugs will not be left in the yard: they betrayed who will help

--

On ITV’s This Morning, David Domoney shares tips on how to eradicate these pests.

According to Mr Domoney, it is widely believed that the main enemy of slugs and snails is salt, but sunlight is a really powerful deterrent because it dries out the pests.

He recommended avoiding late watering so that the sun can still dry out the moisture. “My first tip is never water late because the sun won’t have time to dry out the moisture,” he said.

D. Domoney also suggested protecting the plants with barriers – pests will not be able to access them because they don’t like barriers, he writes express.co.uk.

Slugs like a moist environment, so the expert advises sprinkling dry coffee grounds around the plants, as they dry out the slugs and make it difficult for them to move.

He also recommends using natural wool pellets as another effective barrier. These pellets contain small spines and fibers that repel slugs and snails, preventing them from moving.

If these methods don’t deter the pests, Domoney suggests using gravel, copper tape, or installing a beer trap — burying a container of beer in the ground, the smell of which will attract the slugs and they’ll simply drown.
